This medium allows the distinction between Lactobacilli that produce hydrogen peroxide (H\u2082O\u2082), which appear with blue colonies, and Lactobacilli that do not produce H\u2082O\u2082, which appear with white colonies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The modification of LACTOBACILLUS SELECTIVE AGAR with Chromogenic mix allows the visual differentiation of Lactobacilli:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lactobacilli that produce H\u2082O\u2082 oxidize the Chromogenic mix, causing blue staining of the colonies.<\/li>\n<li>Lactobacilli that do not produce H\u2082O\u2082 remain white, as they lack the necessary enzymatic activity for oxidation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This differentiation is important in diagnostic tests, as H\u2082O\u2082-positive Lactobacilli protect vaginal and intestinal health. In food microbiology, it helps monitor the microbial composition of dairy products.<\/p>\n<p><a
