Finally, it inhibits or slows the growth of bacteria or fungi found in the sample.<\/p>\n<p>The tube is plastic with a screw cap (PP \u00f812.5x85mm- 9ml max, temp. 123 to -85 \u00b0C) and contains glass beads for better diffusion of the sample during stirring.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>VCM Transport Medium<\/strong>, helps maintain the viability of viruses, Chlamydia and Mycoplasma and inhibits or delays the growth of microbial infectious agents. At 15-22 \u00b0C the viruses are maintained in a constant number for 12 hours. After 24 hours their number is reduced by 30% and at 48 by 50%.<\/p>\n<p>Chlamydia and Mycoplasma at 15-22 \u00b0C are maintained in constant numbers for 12 hours.<\/p>\n<p>After 24 hours their number decreases by 20% and at 48 by 30%. At -10 to -15 \u00b0C the viruses are maintained in constant numbers for 72 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Chlamydia and Mycoplasma at -10 to -15 \u00b0C are maintained in constant numbers for 48 hours. After 72 hours their number decreases by 20% and in 5 days by 30%. In 10 days 15 \u2013 20% remain alive.<\/p>\n<p>Gelatin derived from collagen and albumin from bovine serum are proteins and significantly help in the viability of viruses and bacteria. Yeast Extract is rich in vitamins, mainly of the B complex. Sodium chloride regulates the osmotic balance of the material and provides ions. Sucrose is a source of energy. A series of buffer salts provide electrolytes (Ca, Mg, Na ions, etc.). Three antibiotics and an antifungal inhibit the growth of unwanted microorganisms.<\/p>\n<p>Phenol red is an indicator that, by changing color (yellow acidic pH, red alkaline pH), indicates possible
