This dual chromogenic medium has been developed for the simultaneous detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli and the Coliforms in the water.
The different color that the colonies take on allows us to distinguish, separate and accurately calculate the number of colonies of E.coli and the Coliforms from a sample. The medium is based on the formula according to ISO 9308-1:2014. The interaction of peptones and servitol allows rapid colony growth of Coliforms and E. Coli.
